Kick for hope is the game, Coaching for Hope is the name. | Friday,04 Jun 2010

Kick for hope is the game, Coaching for Hope is the name.

To celebrate the World Cup in South Africa we’re sending our individual members an online football game to play. We’re sure they’ll have lots of fun playing the game, but most importantly they’ll help us donate to a charity that we’ve decided to support, Coaching for Hope.

We’re aiming to raise USD$25,000 for Coaching for Hope, a wonderful charity that harnesses the universal appeal of football to reach young people, and is helping to make a positive difference to the disadvantaged and HIV/AIDS affected in Africa and other developing areas. They train local people to coach football to youngsters, at the same time giving them valuable and potentially life-saving health information. Their schemes build a real sense of community.

For every goal scored (up to a maximum of five) in our Kick for hope online game, we’ll donate USD$1 to Coaching for Hope. In addition, our members can make their own donations to this worthy cause.

Coaching for Hope’s patron is Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim – the world famous DJ/producer. He kindly gave a signed football shirt to Linda Barnard-Munday, Bupa International Loyalty Marketing Manager, at a recent promotional event, which is being raffled at a staff event in Brighton, raising more money for the charity.

This timely game will resonate with our members, who will be exposed to football for the duration of the World Cup. It demonstrates that Bupa can be topical, and shows our caring credentials by linking to a charity that doesn’t receive much attention, but that is doing marvellous work.

Join in the fun!

So that you don’t miss out on all the fun, we have built a special site (please click on the link below), so you can test your skills against our keeper and share your clients’ experience. Whilst this is just for kicks, you can go through to the Coaching for Hope website and donate should you wish to.

Company engagement

Briefly, the pilot campaign is complete and the final communication was a questionnaire seeking feedback from the Group Secretaries who were involved. So far we’ve had a good number of them letting us have their views. If you had groups involved, you will also have received a questionnaire requesting your feedback. Please do send this back, as your view is important to us.

We’ll share this feedback in the next edition.

Fancy winning an iPad?

Then watch your post carefully – we’ll be sending you a mailer giving you the chance to win an iPad.

Please give us your comments or suggestions on the engagement campaigns – we do listen. Contact Linda Barnard-Munday at barnarmu@bupa-intl.com.
